If you do speak Scottish Gaelic, then this Police Scotland vacancy may be for you.

Offering a salary of up to £17,706, the role calls for “a Gaelic Development Assistant who will promote and support the development of Gaelic language, culture and heritage in the communities served by Police Scotland”.

Candidates must be able to both read and write the language, and be willing to travel round the country delivering Police Scotland’s “contribution to creating a sustainable future for Gaelic”.

The force aims to be bilingual by 2020, and plans on creating a dual-language logo as well as recruiting more Gaelic-speaking officers.
